Description: Hamilton is
a provider of high-value, engineering consulting
services to the oil and gas industry.
Background/Purpose: Prior
to partnering with ShoreView, Hamilton’s
sole shareholder was looking to reduce his
role in the business over time and monetize
the value he had created since founding the
Company in 1976. Charles Brown, one
of Hamilton’s top consultants, was
interested in acquiring the Company and transitioning
to an executive role. ShoreView supported
Mr. Brown and his merchant bank partners,
Kurt Keene and Greg Houghtaling, in completing
a management buyout. This transaction allowed
Mr. Brown to acquire a substantial portion
of the Company and gave the founder the value
he was seeking for his company.
Growth Strategy:
Grow Hamilton’s operations organically
by expanding into other areas of consulting
in the energy industry
Increase consultant base through the recruitment
of additional sales managers
Seek new client accounts, particularly
clients with international and specialty
projects
Evaluate add-on acquisitions to either
build scale in Hamilton’s current markets
or expand into new, complementary areas of
consulting
Results:
Hamilton is well positioned to continue
its track record of robust growth
